Wayne Archibald, PhD, Director, Educational Programs

Dr. Archibald is Assistant Professor at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and Founding Director for the Caribbean Green Technology Center College of Science and Mathematics focusing on research, education, energy policy, and workforce development.  Dr. Archibald has worked as an Assistant Professor of Chemical and Physical Sciences at UVI, where he obtained his B.S. in Chemistry and A.S. in Physics before completing his M.S. and Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon.  Dr. Archibald is a certified solar installation director for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), having completed studies at the US Solar Institute in Florida and the University of the West Indies.

Tonjia Coverdale, PhD, Manager, Educational Programs

With three degrees in IT – B.S., MBA, and PhD – industry experience with internationally acclaimed technology firms such as IBM, HP, and Accenture, and academic experience with 14 years as a University professor with the distinction of being the first African-American and woman to receive an Ph.D. in Information Systems from any of the 106 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the United States, Dr. Coverdale is an IT executive, professional, entrepreneur, and scholar who has cultivated her unique perspective of the IT field through the combination of academic theories, applied research, industry practices, entrepreneurial insight, and strategic focus.  Dr. Coverdale is the President of Lambiante, which provides fiber optic network design, construction, and deployment for local, metropolitan, and wide area networks along with fiber optic application and network solutions.

Raynal S. Harris, Jr., Assoc. AIA, NOMA, Director, Design and Construction

Harris holds an Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree from Morehouse College, and a Master’s Degree in Architecture with a concentration in Urban Design from the University of Michigan.  Harris’s professional career spans 21 years, across which has experience ranging from areas such as design of healthcare, education, hospitality, and corporate offices to overseeing an architectural design and interior design studio, and most notably, holding the position of Vice President Director of Design and board member at Turner Associates Architects and Planners, one of the largest minority architecture firms in the southeast.  Harris co-founded Harris+Smith, LLC, a full service architecture and interior design firm, and has been an invited lecturer at several Universities and Colleges on Architecture, Urbanism and Business Entrepreneurship.

Ibrahim Barrie, PhD, Director, West Africa Initiative

Dr. Barrie leads REACH West Africa Initiatives, with a focus on agriculture, mining, and infrastructure development.  Dr. Barrie’s professional career includes experiences from within government, academia, private sector, a professional career in Mental Nursing, non-profit, the Green Technologies Infrastructure sector and most recently, developing trading links between West Africa, the UK and Eastern Europe, concentrating on the Soviet Union.  Dr. Barrie holds a diploma in Agricultural Mechanization from Technical College No. 5, Kursk, MS Agricultural Engineering from Belarusian Institute of Agricultural Mechanization-Minsk, Belarus and a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Mechanization of Agricultural Production from Belarusian Agricultural Technical University, Minsk.

Sarah Tag, Manager of Sustainability Programs.  Tag leads REACH Sustainability Initiatives for campuses and universities and seeks to expand and improve environmental sustainability practices of communities and institutions of higher learning.  In her recent work she coordinated Roosevelt University’s first ever Reuse Art Competition, and Green Office Challenge.  She also collaborated on Roosevelt University’s Bike Room Revamp Project and digitization, and Recycling Awareness program, as well as managed the University’s community garden.  Tag has a bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Studies, and a passion for preservation of resources, and conservation of nature.  She believes that the key to sustaining our planet begins with a knowledge of our options and consequences, and as such, she enjoys the opportunity to encourage sustainable thinking, by promoting an understanding of transportation, energy, water, waste, and recycling.  Tag is a member of the Roosevelt University Environmental Sustainability Committee, where she co-led the Waste and Natural Resources subcommittee.

Mark Radom, Esq., of Council, Licensing and Legal

Radom has extensive experience in business development in the renewable energy and carbon credit sectors.  Radom has served as the Chief Carbon Officer and General Counsel of Bluesphere Corporation; Managing Director of Carbon MPV Limited; General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Carbon Markets Global Limited – London; US Securities and Capital Markets Lawyer on Wall Street, the City of London, and Western Africa, representing sovereigns, global investment banks, and fortune 500 companies.  He is a graduate of Duke University, Brooklyn Law School, was admitted to the New York and New Jersey Bar; and speaks fluent Russian.
